The Mid-Cities Stamp Club, founded in 1973 by Ray and Karen Cartier, is one of the largest and most active local stamp clubs in Texas. We counted 134 members as of December 31, 2013. The club hosts two meetings a month (one in Arlington, one in Irving) in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In addition, we have an affiliate club in Granbury, TX., which meets once a month. Annually, we sponsor the Mid-Cities EXPO, a very successful stamp show and exhibition.
Our Arlington meetings are held the first Wednesday (the second Wednesday in April and when the first Wednesday falls on a national holiday) of each month at the Bob Duncan Community Center , located at 2800 South Center Street in Vandergriff Park. Meetings start at 7:30 but many members arrive early for trading and socializing. Following a brief business session, there is usually an auction or philatelic program.
Irving meetings are held the third Wednesday (no meeting in December) of each month at the The Irving Garden and Arts Building, 906 Senter Street, three blocks north of Shady Grove Road. Meetings begin at 7:30pm. The agenda is similar to the Arlington meetings, with the addition of mixture picks.
Granbury meetings occur on the fourth Tuesday of the month, 7:00 pm, at the Bentwater Activities Center, located adjacent to the Bentwater marina Northeast of Granbury.
